United Industrial of New York has announced the election of Edward Aldridge, a former Secretary of the Air Force, to its board of directors. Aldridge is an aeronautical engineer who has served as both Under Secretary and Secretary of the Air Force from 1981 to 1988. During this period he also directed the US National Reconnaissance Office, which oversees the development, launch and operation of classified national-security satellite systems.
