United Airlines will launch its new United Ground Express ground handling service at select domestic airports this autumn.
The new service will provide customer service, station operations, ramp and cargo services for United and United Express flights at select airports, the Chicago-based carrier says.
“We are launching United Ground Express to provide flyer friendly service to travellers in more airports throughout North America,” says Lynda Coffman, president of United Ground Express, in a statement.
One of the first stations for the new service will be Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International airport, where United will launch service from its Chicago O’Hare International airport hub on 9 December.
United confirmed plans for the new service when it appointed Coffman to her position in March. It did not provide further details at the time.
