Actuation and logistics specialist Claverham Group has arrived in Paris convinced that its change of ownership earlier this year opens up opportunities in previously unavailable markets, including the emerging UAV business. Claverham was less than 24 months old when it first visited Paris two years ago. Now it is part of the Hamilton Sundstrand global family, forming part of the newly launched Hamilton Sundstrand Flight Systems and Services business segment.

Claverham will help to expand Hamilton Sundstrand's flight systems capabilities and after-market services, according to chairman Simon Frost. "In a consolidating industry, this is a wonderful opportunity for all of us at Claverham to build further upon our recent successes within a strong and truly international company," he said on the eve of the show. "Last Paris, Claverham was a new name in the aerospace world. Now we are part of a global team that can offer total power systems to customers worldwide."

Claverham's aviation portfolio includes the products and services of its FHL division, which designs and manufactures aircraft and missile actuation systems. FHL managing director Alan Bean is upbeat about the benefits of Hamilton Sundstrand ownership. "We are playing a leading role in Hamilton Sundstrand¹s programme to support the UAV market, which will present unique systems and flight control challenges." At Le Bourget Claverham is exhibiting primary flight controls for aircraft such as the Agusta Bell AB139 and Eurofighter.
