James Kelly, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of international package-distribution company UPS, of Louisville, Kentucky, has been elected vice-chairman, and will be nominated as chairman at the company's November board meeting. He replaces current chairman and chief executive Kent (Oz) Nelson, who will continue to serve on the UPS board. Kelly has been with the company since 1964.
