US Airways had chosen Lake Charles, Louisiana-based Aeroframe to handle airframe base maintenance on its Airbus A330s.

Flightglobal's ACAS fleet database shows that US Airways currently operates seven A330-200s and has 18 on order. The carrier also operates nine A330-300s.

Owned by EADS until 2005, Aeroframe features hangars that accommodate up to 12 widebody or 16 narrowbody aircraft, specialising in heavy maintenance and modifications of Airbus airframes.

"This marks the beginning of an extremely important relationship with one of the leading US Airlines and a significant expansion of our services in the Lake Charles area," says Aeroframe chief executive Roger Porter.
