The US Federal Aviation Administration is acquiring up to 54 InVision Technologies CTX 5000 SP explosive detectors, worth $52 million, to beef up security at major international airports in the USA. Contract options could double the value of the contract. The fixed-price contract calls for the Foster City, California, company to deliver the first unit this month.
