US Helicopter and Continental Airlines have formed a codeshare agreement to expedite the booking and ticketing process for customers connecting between two New York City heliports and airline flights from Continental’s Newark Liberty International airport hub.

Continental has placed its code (CO) on US Helicopter flights that operate between the Downtown Manhattan or the Atlantic Metroport at East 34th Street and connect to Continental's international BusinessFirst flights at Newark.

"Codesharing improves airline service by simplifying the booking process with electronic ticketing and communication of itinerary information between the two companies," says Continental's senior vice president Asia/Pacific and corporate development Mark Erwin. "Customers traveling on connecting itineraries are able to have single check-in for all flights, including the issuance of boarding passes and baggage checked through to their final destination," he adds.

US Helicopter and Continental have partnered to provide eight- minute shuttle service between Manhattan and Newark since December 2006. US Helicopter customers traveling on Continental flights complete security screening at the heliport allowing customers to proceed directly to their departure gate.
