Investigators from the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are travelling to Kingston, Jamaica to investigate a runway overrun of an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 (N977AN).
The incident happened at around 22:00 on 22 December in heavy rain.
NTSB says the aircraft overshot the runway, crossed a road and stopped on a beach. There were 154 passengers onboard and six crew, and multiple injuries were reported.
The team dispatched by NTSB includes five aviation specialists, and technical advisors from FAA, American, Boeing and GE Aircraft Engines.
The investigation is being led by the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority.
Flightglobal's ACAS database last listed the aicraft's owner as RBS Aviation Capital.
