US-based Flight Visions (D243) has joined forces with BVR Technologies of Israel in a partnership to develop jet fighter training systems.

Flight Visions, which manufactures and markets commercial and military head-up display (HUD) systems, will merge its expertise with BVR, a company which has developed a line of off-the-shelf simulation and training systems.

Under the agreement announced at Asian Aerospace '98, both parties will develop, produce and market embedded Air Combat Manoevring Instrumentation (ACMI) Training Debriefing Systems in airborne line replaceable units (LRUs).

The system gives advanced air combat training which simulates radar input and weapons' releases and scores them accurately.

Flight Visions points out there is an inherent safety and cost benefit in a system which allows such training without the need to use live weapons.

Serve

Announcing the deal, Flight Visions president Robert Atac says: "We're always looking for ways to better serve our customers and teaming with BVR is one way we can do that."

Aviv Tzidon, president and chief executive officer of BVR, adds: "The mutual agreement will expand BVR's flexibility and technological innovation potential while at the same time opening new markets for both companies - primarily in the US."
