US Airways has asked the US Bill Clinton Administration to renounce the Bermuda II air services agreement between the USA and the UK in a move which is designed to speed up the pace of talks over an "open skies" aviation pact. Negotiations are at an impasse after meetings in October failed to produce any progress. Stephen Wolf, US Airways chairman, wants the White House formally to renounce the existing bilateral. That act would allow either party to abrogate the provisions of the current treaty after one year.
