The European Union and the USA are moving closer to the start of a World Trade Organisation hearing over disputed aircraft subsidies for Airbus and Boeing as they continue to select panellists to hear the case. The two sides have agreed on some of the six panellists and either party is allowed to reject candidates put forward by the dispute settlement board for “compelling reasons”. The European Commission says two meetings to choose panellists have taken place, and a third meeting is set for 30 August. The hearing will begin once the two panels have been selected.
