PANORAMIC night-vision goggles, (PNVGs) are being developed by the US Air Force, and a prototype will be flight tested by the US Army later this year. The goggles offer a 100° horizontal field of view, compared with 40¡ for the ANVIS goggles in use since the early 1980s and the 60° field-of-view provided by the recently introduced NOVA-8 goggles.

The PNVGs have been, designed by the US Air Force's Armstrong Laboratory, at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Prototype goggles have been produced by Illinois-based Night Vision. The PNVGs are comparable in weight to ANVIS goggles, but have a much lower profile, enabling them to be worn during ejection. Production goggles will include an integrated head-up display and video-recording capability.
