US Air Force Gen Joseph Ashy, head of US Space Command, has reimbursed the Pentagon $5,020 for a C-21 flight, he and his wife took between Colorado and Washington. The payment was made as the Pentagon's inspector general issued a critical report about Ashy's travel aboard USAF transports in 1994. Ashy and his pet cat also flew from Naples, Italy to Colorado in an empty Lockheed C-141B transport. The C-141 flight cost the US taxpayer $116,000, while a commercial flight would have cost about $650.
