Investigators are probing the 17 April crash of a US Air Force Learjet C-21A executive jet which killed all eight people aboard, including Clark Fiester, the USAF's assistant secretary for acquisition. The aircraft was flown from Andrews AFB outside Washington and was bound for Randolph AFB in San Antonio, Texas. It crashed into woods while attempting an emergency landing at Alexander City (Alabama) Airport.

The C-21A was based at Randolph AFB and was carrying a crew of two and six passengers.
