United Technologies has agreed to sell its Colorado Springs-based UTMC Microelectronic Systems integrated circuit business unit to Aeroflex of Plainview, New York, for $46 million in cash. The deal is expected to be closed early next year, once regulatory and financial reviews are completed. UTMC builds radiation-hardened integrated circuits for satellite communications. Aeroflex supplies microelectronic modules and interconnect products for the communications marketplace. UTMC, which had sales of $34 million last year, was outside its core business, says UTC.
