John Balaguer has been promoted to executive vice-president at US aero-engine manufacturer United Technologies (UTC) Pratt & Whitney, of West Palm Beach, Florida. With UTC for more than 30 years, he retains the title and duties of president for Government Engines & Space Propulsion. He was formerly with UTC's Sikorsky Aircraft. Hansel Tookes has been appointed president of government engine business. He was executive vice- president for aircraft products at United Technologies' Hamilton Standard division at Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Tookes, who is a former US Navy and United Airlines pilot, has been with UTC for 15 years.
