Dutch low-cost airline V-Bird has been declared bankrupt by a court in Maastricht, after talks with the Exel Aviation Group about a possible takeover fell through. The airline had been in financial trouble for some time and accumulated an outstanding debt of €39 million ($49 million). The low-cost airline served 17 destinations with four leased Airbus A320s.
