Brazil's civil aviation regulator DAC grounded Vasp last week, just two days after beginning an investigation into the financially troubled carrier. The move cancels authority to operate scheduled services, but does not formally nullify the carrier's air operator's certificate (AOC), which remains valid until April. Vasp was operating only eight of its 56 scheduled flights, according to local reports. Vasp will be allowed to operate charter services until April.
