New Belgian carrier VG Airlines is to adopt the brand name of its owner's luggage business, Delsey. Belgian business tycoon Tony Gram, who owns Delsey, purchased a shareholding in the airline from its founder Freddie Van Gaever shortly after it launched services in May and now owns 100% of the carrier. Despite the change of name and ownership, Van Gaever remains chief executive.

The airline's second Airbus A330-200 has carried the Delsey name since it entered service. The airline has decided that this brand is more easily marketed than VG Airlines in the USA where the carrier's main destinations are Boston, Los Angeles and New York. The airline's other two A330-200s will now have the new name applied.

Earlier this month, VG Airlines unveiled plans to acquire two or three more A330-200s. These aircraft will also carry the Delsey Airlines livery.
