The fuselage of a Boeing 747-8I was the canvas for a light and projection show last night as Lufthansa unveiled its new livery to employees in Frankfurt.
As around 3,000 local staff arrived at the event – held in an Airbus A380 hangar at Frankfurt Main airport – the 747-8I was bathed in sparkling lights that partially obscured the new paint job.

After a series of speeches, including one by Lufthansa group chief executive Carsten Spohr, the light and projection show began, culminating in the new livery being fully revealed.
The colourful display contrasted with the stark, single-colour paint scheme adopted under the German carrier's rebranding effort.
Lufthansa says 40 aircraft will receive the new paint job this year. The repainting programme is set to take seven years.
