German Operating Aircraft Leasing (GOAL) has entered into a sale-and-leaseback deal for four new Airbus A321s that will be delivered to Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air later this year.
The agreement was signed between officials of the two companies during a ceremony in Berlin, says a joint statement from the parties involved.
Vietnam prime minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and German officials witnessed the signing.
The statement adds that the four jets are worth $464 million at list prices.
"Following this agreement, all parties will continue to work and cooperate together on more opportunities in aviation development in the coming time,” says GOAL managing director Jochen Baltes.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the lessor has a diverse portfolio of 56 Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer aircraft.
In early June, VietJet announced that Mitsubishi-UFJ Lease will finance three new Airbus A321 aircraft that it has on order.
Flight Fleets Analzyer shows that VietJet Air has 41 A320 family aircraft in service. It has orders for 192 aircraft: 92 A320 family aircraft, and 100 Boeing 737 Max 200s.
