Vietnam Airlines has firmed up an order with Airbus for five new A321s. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2003 and 2005 and will be deployed on select domestic and intra-Asian routes. This is the first time Vietnam Airlines has made an outright purchase from Airbus. The carrier is leasing 10 A320-100s and two A321s.
