Mike Lotz, previously director of ground operations with Virgin Express, has been promoted to chief operating officer. He began his aviation career in 1985 with New York Air and later held senior- operations positions with Continental Airlines and Continental Express, including that of vice-president for airport services. Capt Luc Sobry has been appointed director of flight operations, replacing Luc Tack, who becomes safety officer. Sobry has worked for Virgin Express and predecessors EBA and TEA for more than 20 years. George Lippemeier has been appointed director of quality assurance. Having served for 25 years in the US Air Force, he joined Mesa Airlines in 1988. He has held various positions, including that of president of Mesa's all-jet division, Desert Sun Airlines.
