Visionaire is evaluating the possibility of establishing an assembly line in Israel for its Vantage executive jet. A delegation from the US manufacturer arrived in Israel on 9 December to discuss the scheme with the Government.

The plan is to build an assembly line in Arad, in southern Israel. The Israeli Government is assisting companies who are ready to invest in areas, which suffer from a high rate of unemployment and are defined as "development areas".

Israviation has already received such Government assistance for its ST-50 aircraft plant in northern Israel. According to the plan, Visionaire will invest in the assembly line and also manufacture some of the composite parts in Arad.

Visionaire believes that assembling the Vantage in Israel could assist its efforts to keep the price of the aircraft at about $1.7 million.

The Vantage is a single-turbofan aircraft able to carry four passengers. The proof-of-concept Vantage was rolled out on 8 November at the Scaled Composites site in Mojave, California.

The first flight took place a few days later.
