Belgian regional carrier VLM's brand identity is to disappear early next year following its integration with Air France-KLM subsidiary CityJet.
The two carriers have already detailed initial network restructuring following Air France-KLM's acquisition of VLM.
But speaking during a briefing in London today, CityJet and VLM's managing director for the London City network, Johan Vanneste, said: "Right now there's a phasing-out of the VLM brand and, in January 2010, the goal is to have a unified brand.
Vanneste was the former managing director for the Belgian carrier before the integration.
"The air operator's certificates will remain separate," he says. "Operations and companies will also remain separate. But commercially we will be 'one face' to the market."
CityJet, which operates BAE Systems Avro RJs, and Fokker 50 operator VLM have been reorganising their services, initially between London City and the Dutch destinations of Amsterdam and Eindhoven.
