Swedish auto giant Volvo is trumpeting its success in the aviation industry at Stand A320.
Volvo Aero was hailed as "Éan outstanding example of quality development in Sweden" when it received the 1996 Swedish Quality Award.
While Volvo accepts it is a small player against the giants of the worldwide industry, it sees itself as a giant in its specialist areas.
These include partnerships with Pratt & Whitney, GE and Rolls-Royce in which it manufactures small aircraft engines, complex structures and rotating parts.
