UK private air charter company von Essen Aviation has purchased four new helicopters: a Sikorsky S-76 and three Eurocopter Twin Squirrels. Von Essen already has two S-76s, a Bell 222 and two Twin Squirrels operated alongside a single Beechcraft Premier I business jet.
Part of the luxury von Essen hotel chain, von Essen Aviation in association with PremiAir Aviation Services offers helicopter transfers as part of its luxury break offering, starting from £1,850 ($3,500) for a flight for four people.
Von Essen's Sikorsky S-76s feature leather interiors and mini-bars. "Customer demand for private helicopter charter from both the business and leisure sectors has really been the driving force behind the expansion of our air fleet," says Greg Ward, executive director of sales and marketing for von Essen.
