Aircraft component supplier A J Walter Aviation is at Asian Aerospace with the region firmly in its sights after recently opening an Australian office dedicated to the Australian and New Zealand region.
The rapidly-growing firm has passed the $120 million turnover mark. The main area of growth has been in the contract supply of component support services, power by the hour and component leasing.
A J Walter currently has more than 80 aircraft under power by the hour contracts, including recent agreements with Air Blue, Air Atlantic Icelandic, Atlas Jet, Astraeus and Sun Express.
Terms range from two to five years with operators in central Asia, South-East Asia, Europe and Africa, with a lease inventory covering everything from Boeing 737-700 to Boeing 777s and Airbus A310s to Airbus A340 spare parts.
Currently, the firm is adding an average of three aircraft a month under power by the hour agreements.
Earlier this year, the firm bought the entire stock of A320 spare parts from the administrator of Aero Lloyd. The stock was integrated into the firm’s inventory, which is claimed to be the largest inventory of its type owned by a private stockist.
