Temporary flight restrictions in airspace around Washington DC will be made permanent under a notice of proposed rulemaking issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration. The 28km (15nm)-radius no-fly zone and larger air-defence identification zone will become “national defence airspace” under the proposal.
