The UK Ministry of Defence is to issue an invitation to tender (ITT) this month to companies interested in providing technical support services for its Watchkeeper UAV programme. Worth up to £1 million ($1.8 million), the initiative seeks a partner capable of providing systems and human engineering, system environmental qualification, airworthiness and safety testing and mission planning services. Bidders will also be required to conduct support work in areas including systems integration, software qualification and electromagnetic and communications testing. The Defence Procurement Agency’s tactical UAV integrated project team has requested expressions of interest by 30 September, and is due to receive ITT responses from interested parties by 14 October.
