CAE this month introduced its third generation CAE Tropos-6000 simulation visual image generator. The new IG provides a more immersive environment, according to the simulator manufacturer, as well as leverages the power of NVIDIA commercial graphics processors to offer new or enhanced features. They include more realistic blowing snow; new 3-D scattered and broken cloud patterns, storm fronts and haze; plus new water reflections.
Initial implementations for the new platform include two A350 XWB full-flight simulators for Airbus and upgrades to Air France A320 and A340 simulators.
The third-generation Tropos-6000 is based on COTS hardware and can be retrofitted to simulators manufactured by other vendors, says CAE. It is also fully compatible with CAE True Airport service which provides more than 200 airport databases online.
