State-of-the-art UK weather information can now be purchased on the Internet, thanks to MetWEB, a new initiative from the Met Office. All is revealed, together with a host of world-class weather innovations, on the Met Office stand (Hall 4/G8). The high-tech stand vividly illustrates the results of years of investment in science and technology, now available to organisations ranging from NASA, through commanders in the field, to the private pilot.
MetWEB products include five-day inland, international and marine forecasts, similar to those on the MetFAX dial-up service, together with pressure charts, detailed satellite images and current weather data.
The products are available through the Met Office web site at http:/meto.gov.uk.
