On show in Hall 2/A11 is a full colour weather radar system for the C130 Hercules made by Sperry Marine SRL and marketed by Transaero.
In full production for the USAF, it is a contender for the current RAF radar upgrade requirements.
The very powerful radar can detect weather up to 440km (240nm) away, aircraft up to 90km and can interrogate beacons up to 90km away.
The system also has superior ground mapping capabilities, can interface with other aircraft systems and can display them on the radar screen simultaneously.
