An up-rated Williams-Rolls FJ44 turbofan will power Raytheon Aircraft's new light business-jet, designated the PD 374. The FJ44-2 selected is rated at 10kN (2,300lb) thrust and has a higher bypass-ratio, a larger-diameter fan and two additional intermediate-compressor stages, compared with the 8.5kN FJ44-1A used in Cessna's CitationJet.
Certification of the FJ44-powered Swearingen SJ30 light business-aircraft, meanwhile, is slated for the first half of 1997, with the airframe manufacturer claiming to have booked some 60 firm orders for the aircraft.
