Italian low-cost start-up Wind Jet has taken delivery of two Airbus A320s on medium-term lease from Ansett Worldwide. Based in Catania, Sicily, Wind Jet will operate the two International Aero Engines V2500-A1-powered aircraft, which were originally delivered to Hong Kong-based carrier Dragonair in 1993, in a 180-seat configuration on scheduled services to the Italian mainland. Initial destinations for the twinjets will be Forl in north-east Italy and Rome.
