Since 1964, windshear has been recognised as a contributing factor in more than 25 air accidents.

Holding the basic patent for windshear detection since 1977, Safe Flight's latest wind shear warning (WSW) systems now fly in hundreds of aircraft worldwide.

The company, in Hall 1, Stand D35, is displaying its latest WSW system, which now is being offered with a recovery guidance (RG) option.

RG gives the pilot guidance on the best possible way to recover the aircraft using the existing flight director pitch command bars. A rotation speed command (RSC) option is also available to extend wind shear protection against take-off roll.

Safe Flight's WSW/RG is widely used in both the corporate and commercial sectors of the market, as well as on simulators used by major airlines. Where possible the system uses inputs from existing aircraft sensors and is available in both analogue and digital forms.
