The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has selected seven contractors to continue work on the WolfPack electronic warfare programme.

WolfPack is designed to counter advanced radar systems and future tactical communications systems using frequency-agile, low-power, packet-networked technologies. It will augment existing EW systems.

BBNT Solutions, Information Systems Laboratories, Rockwell Collins and Statistical Signal Processing will concentrate on critical system functions and core technology enhancements.

BAE Systems and Raytheon-led teams were selected to undertake system design to address radio frequency threats.

A prototype will be developed and tested from fiscal year 2003.
