-SR Technics, the Swissair affiliate, has secured a contract with Boeing to install the two crew Honeywell Advanced Common Flightdeck on DC-10s being converted to MD-10 specification for US freight carrier FedEx. The deal involves 10 firm orders and 15 options. In a related deal, Singapore Technologies' Alabama, Georgia based Mobile Aerospace Engineering division was recently contracted by Boeing's Douglas Products division to carry out up to 10 DC-10 passenger-to-cargo conversions. The contract includes one firm conversion order, plus options on a further nine. Work begins this month. Dimension Aviation, Pemco and Aeronavali are also involved in conversion work.

-Southwest Airlines has signed a three-year contract with BFGoodrich Aerospace's Everett, Washington-based Maintenance, Repair &Overhaul group covering all Boeing 737 heavy maintenance. Some 53 aircraft will undergo full D-checks.

-Lufhansa Technik and subsidiary Condor Cargo Technik have signed a partnership agreement for maintenance support of Belgian airline Citybird's two new Boeing 767s, due for delivery from April.

++ Gulf Aircraft Maintenance has scheduled an Airbus A320 of Singapore's Region Air, leased to Oman Air, for an International Aero Engines V2500 engine change, A check and structural repair. The company is also to maintain and refurbish two Airbus A310s for British Aerospace (Aviation Services).The Abu Dhabi based operation has also started C checks on seven Lockheed L-1011 TriStars, belonging to Air Atlanta Icelandic. The company has also reinstated its Rolls-Royce RB.211-524B overhaul capability and is looking at extending this into other versions of the engine.

-Hamilton Aviation has been contracted by Aerolease International to carry out a D check on a Boeing 727-200 for Falcon Air, and a C check for Aerolease on a McDonnell Douglas DC-8-63F operated by ATI.
