-Gulf Aircraft Maintenance (GAMCO) and Pratt & Whitney Eagle Services have signed a memorandum of understanding to "-further define business arrangements" to incorporate GAMCO into its global engine support operation.

-Rotables management specialist Arinmar has signed a three-year agreement with British Aerospace RegionalAircraft to manage the repair and overhaul of designated rotables.

-Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed a joint venture agreement with Hamilton Standard to repair and overhaul engine fuel components for Pratt & Whitney JT9D, PW4000 and CFM International CFM56 engines, as well as PWC901 auxiliary power units. Hamilton Standard will hold a 51% stake in Fuel Accessory Service Technologies and SIA the remainder. The company's new 2,230m³ 978,600ft³) plant in Singapore will open in February 1999.

-Marshall Aerospace has passed a US Federal Aviation Administration audit into its Lockheed L-1011-200 TriStar freighter conversion work.

-Budapest-Hungary, based Aeroplex of Central Europe (ACE) has completed an S4C check on an Air Europe Boeing 767-300ER.

-Timco of North Carolina has secured a Midwest Express contract to perform a D-check and painting contract of three McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10s, and a D-check, glass cockpit modification, interior modification and strip/paint of a Boeing MD-80.

-SAS has contracted Lufthansa Technik and SAS Component to provide component repair and overhaul to SAS' Boeing 737-600 fleet from September 1998.

-Aeromexico is performing a D-check on a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 acquired by Skyjet of Brussels before delivery on 15 July.

-Uzbekistan Airways has contracted Lufthansa Engineering and Operational Services to provide tooling for Airbus A310 heavy maintenance.

-Shannon Aerospace is preparing to start maintenance work on Airbus types at the end of August.
