-Pratt & Whitney is creating a unified service operation for civil and military engine customers. The Engine Services organisation will merge traditional support and spares functions with the services formerly offered by Pratt & Whitney Eagle Services.
-H+S Aviation, the Portsmouth, UK-based engine repair organisation, has agreed with Sundstrand Aerospace to establish a European Service Centre for repairing Sundstrand's APS500 and APS1000 auxiliary power units.
-Air Jamaica has contracted Pemco World Air Services to undertake heavy maintenance of its two Airbus A320s.
-Avrotec Aircraft Services, the British Aerospace Regional Aircraft maintenance arm, has started upgrading Lufthansa CityLine's 18-strong Avro RJ85s to current production standards.
-Normalair-Garrett, a UK-based joint venture between AlliedSignal and GKN Westland, has entered into a five-year rate-per-flying-hour partnership with British Aerospace Regional Aircraft, covering component repair and overhaul support of NGL and AlliedSignal equipment.
-HEICO Aerospace Holdings, 20% owned by Lufthansa Technik, has acquired Miami-based Associated Composite, to expand HEICO's aircraft accessory repair and overhaul operations. The licensed repair and overhaul company repairs engine cowlings and nacelles, doors, flight control surfaces, radomes and fairings.
