-Volvo Aero Engine Services is to undertake a $250 million contract for Continental Airlines to maintain 160 Pratt & Whitney JT8D-200 engines fitted to its MD-80 fleet. The deal runs for five years. ++ British Airways Engineering has been awarded a five-year contract to undertake maintenance on Boeing 767s operated by Swiss World Airways, the Geneva-based start-up.

-Dallas Airmotive has completed the first overhaul of a Rolls-Royce Tay engine in North America. The work was undertaken on a Corse Mediterranee Fokker 100. A second engine is now being overhauled for the French airline.

-California-based NASCO Aircraft Brake has been awarded a supplemental type certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration for its replacement rotors for Boeing 727s equipped with BFGoodrich brakes.
