-Sogerma's maintenance group has begun a nine-week programme to carry out the five-year "C" checks on two of Sabena's Airbus A340-300s, which the company says will include structural ageing inspections that have never before been performed on the type. The contract also includes cabin refurbishment.

-Lufthansa Technik has been contracted by Vietnam Airlines to carry out repair and overhaul on the General Electric CF6-80 engines powering the airline's four 767-300s.

-Sabreliner's Goodyear, AZ, division, Dimension Aviation, has received Federal Aviation Adminstration approval to overhaul and maintain Boeing 727s.

-FLS Aerospace and UK low cost airline easyJet have set up a joint venture to provide a turnkey maintenance and component support service for the airline's Boeing 737 operations centered on London Luton Airport.
