Air France Industries has concluded a seven-year agreement with Airtours International for the provision of full component repair and exchanges services to support the Airbus Industrie A320 and A321 fleet of aircraft operating within the Airtours Group. The fleet comprises 24 aircraft flying throughout Europe, North America and Canada. This follows the recent deal with Airtours to provide component support of its new A330-200 fleet. Meanwhile, Air France Industries has signed a deal with Virgin Atlantic extending its maintenance support contract for its ten A340-300s to July 2004. The deal covers full support of components and the CFM International CFM56-5 engines. Lucas Aerospace has signed a five-year contract with Minneapolis, USA-based Northwest Airlink carrier Mesaba Airlines. The deal entails Lucas Aerospace electrical generating system line replaceable units, and involves maintenance on a cost by flight hour basis. The total Mesaba five- year contract is worth $3 million. Lucas Aerospace says that deals such as this offering flexibility and predictable costs are becoming increasingly popular. Atlantic Coast Airlines and Trans States Airlines, both United Express carriers, have signed with Lucas for similar deals. Sextant Avionique is to supply avionics maintenance support to Lufthansa Technik on a by-the-hour basis. FLS Aerospace has won a $11 million contract to supply component and technical support for two McDonnell Douglas DC-10s belonging to Belgian charter carrier SkyJet. The component services division of BFGoodrich has won a FedEx contract for the on-site component maintenance and overhaul for passenger McDonnell Douglas DC-10s being converted to freighters at Aeronavali, Italy. Rolls-Royce Canada, Montreal, is to be BMW Rolls-Royce's primary North American maintenance and overhaul base for the BR715 engines fitted to Boeing 717-200s.
