UK spares specialist Airinmar has signed a two-year agreement with British Aerospace Asset Management, to support its fleet of more than 240 BAe 146/RJs, ATPs and Jetstreams. Airinmar will manage the exchange, test, overhaul and repair of parts removed from BAe Asset Management's aircraft undergoing maintenance and refurbishment between leases. It will also assume responsibility for managing BAe Asset Management's rotables stock in terms of sale, exchange and loan. Airinmar has also secured a three-year contract with Biman Bangladesh to support its Airbus A310s, McDonnell Douglas DC-10s, BAe ATPs, and Fokker F28s, and will be the prime contractor for the overhaul and repair of parts removed from Biman's aircraft, in addition to providing a spares exchange service. Air Malta has placed a seven-year contract with FLS Aerospace for rotable component support for its nine Boeing 737s and two A320s. KLM Engineering & Maintenance and Hamilton Sundstrand are to set up a joint-venture company to serve the European, Middle Eastern and African repair and overhaul markets for all large commercial aircraft pneumatic components. The company is to be called European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair and will begin operations on 1 April. It plans to construct a new facility in the Netherlands. Hamilton Sundstrand holds a 51% share of the company, with KLM holding 49%. Hamilton-Timco Cargo Conversions is a new joint venture offering freighter conversion modifications for converted Boeing 727-200Fs, without being to subject to airworthiness directives. Work can be carried out at Timco or Hamilton's facilities, or by a third party. Allegro Airlines has expanded its commitment to the BFGoodrich Super 27 programme, with an order for two additional conversion kits. The two Boeing 727-200s will be modified after the kits are delivered later this year, increasing its Super 27 fleet to four aircraft.
