The Bedek division of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) has been contracted by Lufthansa to perform C and D checks on 23 Boeing 737s, worth $15 million. The contract includes checks on Boeing 737-300/400/500s, and the first two aircraft have already arrived at Bedek's facilities in Tel-Aviv. All the work will be completed by mid-2001. South African Airways has awarded Rolls-Royce a $50 million long-term contract to cover a maintenance programme contract for the RB211-524Hs which power the airline's fleet of six Boeing 747-400s. The engines are being converted to improved H-T standard. California-based Aviation Distributors has signed a one-year renewable contract with KLM to provide expendable aircraft parts. The deal covers up to 4,600 line items. Saab Aircraft has signed a five-year contract under which Rockwell Collins Aviation Services will provide price-per-flight-hour maintenance support for Collins avionics in Saab 340A/B and Saab 2000 regional airliners. BFGoodrich has signed a 10-year nacelle fleet hour agreement with Impulse Airlines, to provide single-source support for Rolls-Royce BR715 engine nacelles on the Australian carrier's fleet of Boeing 717s.
