Aeroflot Russian Airlines has been contracted by its Shannon-based partner SkyNet Airlines to provide JAR-145 line maintenance on its Boeing 737-400 fleet at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport. This is the first time the Russian airline has won a contract to support a Western airline. SkyNet operates codeshare services with Aeroflot. AirTran Airways has awarded Israel Aircraft Industries' Bedek division a $150 million, 10-year contract to provide component repair and overhaul for its Boeing 717 fleet. Components will be overhauled at Bedek's facilities at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv. Sabena Technics is to provide full support for Sobelair's newest 737-800, under a two-year contract. Sobelair took delivery of the aircraft on 7 December. Hamilton Aerospace Technologies is to perform B and C checks on eight Boeing 727-200s and 737-300s for Miami-based Falcon Air Express. Tucson, Arizona-based Hamilton will perform C checks on two 727s leased by Ryan International Air and will perform A and B checks on a fleet of 727s operated by an unnamed medium-sized cargo airline based in Florida. EADS Sogerma Services and SAS Technical Services have signed a co-operation agreement that will see their business units, Sogerma Components Business Center and SAS Component, focus on material supply services for the Airbus A320 family, A330 and A340. The two firms will draw on each other's resources, experience, capabilities and capacity. Air France Industries has signed maintenance support deals with Star Airlines, Corsair, Air Calin and MyTravel for Airbus A330/A340 widebodies. Yemeni flag carrier Yemenia has contracted Sabena Technics to perform a C10 check on one of its Airbus A310s at Sana'a airport. BAE Systems has won a five-year extension to its contract with UK regional airline Flybe. The $29 million deal provides spares support for 15 BAe 146s.
