The German accident investigation agency, BFU, has revealed that the crews of the Bashkirian Airlines Tupolev Tu-154 and DHL Boeing 757 probably saw each other's aircraft in the final seconds and tried to avoid the fatal collision which occurred over southern Germany on 1 July. The BFU also reports that 30s before the collision, the Swiss radar controller mistakenly advised the Tu-154 that the other traffic was "at 2 o'clock", when it was actually in approximately the 10 o'clock position.
