The Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) demonstrator being built by Boeing with US Defense Advanced Projects Agency funding has been designated the X-45A. Boeing will design, build and flight test the UCAV in a 42-month, $131 million programme. UCAVs would conduct high risk missions.
