Embraer has delivered the first eight increased range ERJ-145XRs to launch customer Express Jet, which operates as Continental Express, following US certification. With improved 8,110lb-thrust (36kN) AE3007A1E turbofans, auxiliary fuel tank and winglets, the XR has an increased maximum range of 3,600km (1,950nm). ExpressJet holds 104 firm orders and 100 options, with 18 due for delivery this year.
