Rockwell Collins has inked a slew of agreements with several Chinese airlines ahead of Airshow China 2010 in Zhuhai.
Xiamen Airlines, Tibet Airlines and Hainan Airlines will signed up for a suite of avionics from Rockwell, most notably the Multiscan Threat Detection System and the GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR).
These will be used on Xiamen's 25 Boeing 737s, nine Tibet Airlines Airbus A319s with an option another nine, and 42 of Hainan Airlines' 737s with an option for another nine.
In addition, Tibet Airlines' A319s will also feature Rockwell's second-generation Digital Programmable Audio Video Entertainment System in-flight entertainment system.
The Multiscan provides clutter-free weather displays that reduce pilot workload, and enhance safety and passenger comfort, by minimising unexpected turbulence encounters, says Rockwell. The MMR is the primary navigation sensor for all phases of flight, and meets the Required Navigation Performance (RNP) requirement of 0.1nm, it adds.
